Israel will be spilling over into Syria next. There was talk of this during one of Chomsky's more recent lectures. When I see stories like this bullshit piece published it only seems that much more certain. If Israel is so concerned about "dangers" on their borders, they should stop expanding them daily!I heard a fluff piece on NPR a couple months ago how Syria is being violent towards its protesters and how the US is vigilantly watching this scenario as the tensions build. I wonder how much longer until NATO starts bombing the Syrians in the name of democracy. There has been escalating propaganda on these stories over the past few months as the U.S. uses sanctions to squeeze the country, creating higher and higher tensions and more and more protests.
Speaking of which, what would the US Government do if true protests and civil disobedience sprang up here in the US? Would rubber bullets, tear gas and police brutality count as violence by the government against protesters? If so, would NATO begin airstrikes on DC?
