Lately there has been a surge of news around the country that many states have changed from the older check printing system for paying unemployment benefits, to the issuance of debit cards.
Worthy of noting is that debit cards aren't managed by the state governments , rather they have outsourced this service to the banks. The same banks responsible for the recession - the same banks that received huge bailouts, the same banks that outsource many of their jobs.
These banks are charging fees for usage as well, making a hefty profit off the unemployment problem all the while.
One point of interest here is the assessed fees that the unemployed seem to be having with these debit cards. According to many articles, the unemployed are swiftly accumulating an abundance of fees. Many of these fees come as a surprise to the unemployed, who do not read the small print in the terms and conditions that come attached to these cards. Either way, the unemployed are given no choice whether or not to accept the card or remain in the paper check system.
This is a complete outrage. It's just another way for big banking to capitalize off the economic crises they orchestrated. The government's been completely hijacked by Big Banking and sadly, the majority still doesn't know, yet. The days of military coups have been outdated and takeovers like this one, by big banking are following suit all over the world.
I made a conscious choice a while ago, NEVER to have a single credit card. More recently, I decided to boycott banks and hold my own money (for no fee). Now that I am unemployed, I will HAVE to carry a mark of the beast Mastercard and once again support Lucifer every time I pay the hidden and not-so-hidden charges associated with the Unemployment Card.
Another interesting note is that the ONLY way to not submit to getting the Unemployment Mastercard is by signing up for direct deposit. So, in essence, there is NO way of getting this taxpayer money, WITHOUT it first passing its way through the bank system. Fees, fees, fees - they ALWAYS get their cut. A $1.50 [fee] here, a $1.50 there... Forty cents for a balance inquiry. Fifty cents to have your card denied. Thirty-five cents to have your account accessed by telephone.
The days of getting, spending, SAVING money Outside of the bank (now the US Government) are all over.
